Changes...

This has been a big week. I successfully defended my dissertation, participated in the graduation ceremony (and snuck out early), and introduced my family to Chicago and Indiana. My family, of course, was proud of me, but they were a bit disappointed that my new "doctor" status does not enable me to dispense prescriptions. Now, I'm going to enjoy my last week in Indiana, before I travel down to Texas for the summer, and before we move on out to Los Angeles. Lots of changes ahead...

This may sound strange but I just want to compliment you on a very interesting blog. Oddly enough, I found it when I googled 'Levinas' and 'Sleep', (the latter of which is the topic for my doctoral thesis in psychoanalytic theory).

In any case, congrats on the doctorate. With any luck, I'll be in a similar position in a few years down the line.

Yours sincerely,
Eric H. (Adelaide, Australia)

You look cute in regalia, Mon-E. Now just smile!

So I assume you're down in TX now, right? Wish College Station was a little closer by, and we could get together. Planning on heading down Austin way anytime soon?
